Black Saber Group has found a way for the U.S. and its mission partners to communicate securely over an encrypted line, furthering interoperability

Today, December 16, 2025, Black Saber Group, shares its recent success of conducting encryption test calls between a 9575A (Government) attached to the E-Clip Alpha and a 9575 Extreme (Commercial) attached to an E-Clip. Testing was conducted in collaboration between Black Saber Group and Iridium Government Engineering team members. The tests were conducted throughout different locations and regions. The devices were in opposite hemispheres, one in the Northern Hemisphere and one in the Southern Hemisphere, and encrypted calls were completed seamlessly. The encryption device, BSG’s E-Clip, has variants for both the Alpha and the Extreme.
This milestone brings forth a new era of encrypted communication for both the government and commercial businesses. The Iridium® 9575 now has the ability to send encrypted voice to and from the Iridium® 9575A, which has been to date impossible. From a military perspective, US Forces can now talk encrypted to their mission partners. From a commercial perspective, users can now talk with AES-256 encryption.
